The Law Office of Joseph G. Sconzo, P.A. represents pharmaceutical companies, physicians, physicians’ assistants, wellness clinics and other healthcare facilities who are under investigation or who are facing disciplinary board hearings. Utilizing the knowledge and understanding of the regulatory guidelines and together with the investigative experience in Healthcare related matters obtained throughout my career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, I am able to identify the issues at hand and develop and implement a tailored plan to achieve and maintain compliance.

Essential to achieving and maintaining compliance is a program that combines document and record review, on-site guidance and training, and an open line of communication between the client and my office. I routinely provide counsel on minimizing and remediating compliance risk, and advise clients on fraud and abuse, confidentiality of information, and the guidelines and statutes governing prescribing and dispensing medication.

Through a thorough review of existing compliance programs and policies, application of the applicable regulations and statutes, and interaction with the employees from the ground level up, I am able to identify any deficiencies and/or potential issues and design a plan that meets compliance best practices.

When compliance issues arise, I assist clients with internal investigations and self-reporting strategies. Through my continued strong working relationships and credibility with federal and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies, I am able to address governmental investigations in the best interests of my clients.

I have successfully represented both Plaintiffs and Defendants in negotiating equitable settlements or Deferred Prosecutions involving government agencies, whistleblowers lawsuits, and in qui tam litigation involving the False Claims Act.
